Lahti-Suunnistus 2.pv (06/08/2017)

Raining 2/3 of the race, ran with glasses. With contacts instead of glasses could've spared maybe 5 minutes or more as I needed to slow down to wipe the fog and also to observe through the foggy glasses... Otherwise somewhat ok. Few small mistakes but nothing serious.
Legs with running distance less than 10% more than straight line:
2 (6,3%), 3 (9,3%), 5 (4,1%), 6 (9,2%), 13 (4,9%), 15 (8,3%) and 16 (6,9%). For the whole course 13,2%.

K-1 The option I took stood up from the rest so went for it. Small mistake in the end when I dropped to wrong ridge. +30sec
5-6 Very happy with my execution. There wasn't too many options to choose from though. The only part I'm not entirely happy with is the section where I ran next to my route to 1st control. Had very little contact there but managed to come out alright.
6-7 Change of pace got me on my toes. At the flat didn't see anything around and at some stage saw the slope going down on my right. Got lucky with the control.
9-10 Left to wrong direction but noticed it quickly. Followed a track roughly 'til my route does a corner, looked down ahead for depression and figured it was to my left. +20sec
10-11 Planned to catch the veg boundary on left and go around the green. Well, went in instead without noticing, so smashed straight through. Lost some time in the thicket for sure. Area right in front of the control was super vague.
13-14-15 Got caught by a pack of 5 orienteers. Kept their pace but took some of my own routes until I lost the two fastest and fell behind the slower guys.
