SM-Yö B-finaali (22/09/2018)

Awful run. Started off crashing straight to the green striped sh*t from the triangle. 1st control itself was hard to hit straight and I lost about 30 sec there.
2nd leg didn't go too bad until after the road I took a bad bearing, +1 min.
3rd leg was ok.
4th went ok until near the control I hit an unmapped track, believing it was the yellow strip next to the control. There was bunch of other runners making the same mistake. I found it first, but lost +1'40''.
I intended to go straight on 5th, but made parallel error and drifted to the road, +30 sec.
6th was wiggly but ok.
7th leg started off right and I was right on money, but I did not see the tiny spur on the map and all of a sudden I was totally confused and lost. I wandered around trying to catch myself and eventually the boulder north of the control gave me the break. I lost +6'40'' there.
Just so things would not get too easy, I made another big one to 8th. I even stopped for 5 sec to take a bearing from the small hill on the path in the thicket, and seemingly I just narrowly missed the control again. I felt like I was too far and slowed down, but could not catch myself anywhere as there was a ton of tiny hills/depressions of which any could have been mapped. I turned back and got lucky, but lost another +4'15''.
After two huge mistakes, I went slowed down significantly on the next two legs, and managed to nail them. Leaving 10th I rubbed my eyes when I sawthe next leg, but after some misbelief chose the S-shaped route. Losing compass contact cost me +30 sec between the roads.
Rest of the course looked easy yet I still managed to mess up. Closing in to 13th I crossed the path and soon instinctively turned towards higher ground, believing it was the control hill. Instead I found the path again and cursed the +45 sec time loss.
Going to 14th my compass needle swirled a bit and believing I was somehow on the big track (even though I was going just as planned) I took some trace I thought was leading towards the control. Instead of a clearing I saw a gully, and another +30 sec was lost. Feeling angry about the whole run I ran the fastest split to the last control.
